Got there and the track looked like crap....too dry. They lightened up on the water because of the apocalyptic weather forecasts. Dusty in hot laps... I figured it would suck. Well thankfully... I was WRONG!! LoL I will say they drug the show out waaaay too long and it was generally typical of Princeton.
The street feature although it had 8 cars in it proved to be a barn burner... 3 lead changes and a last lap pass for the win topped it off. The AMRA feature..... WOW is all I can say... if ya didnt like this race than perhaps you may wanna try another sport. Several lead changes 4 different leaders 4 lead changes last 5 laps. Excellent excellent race!!! Really nice turnout for a good cause and a really nice tribute to all the 29 men who died in the UBB mine. Several of which I knew personally. The UBB 29 was plagued by cautions and FASTRAK's seeming haplessness to run a show this year. However... the racing was off the hook as well. 3 different leaders... multiple lead changes and the winner coming from 10th or farther back. The best part.... the winner's (David Watts) car had the number duct taped on it..... love it!! He set the track record on the last lap of the feature with a 17.10. Stout field of cars (33) and a very racey feature marred by Fastrak's newly found ineptness. They ran a good show in years past... not sure whats going on this year. I have seen two excellent features there this year with the tacky surface in May providing a tad better race with many fewer cautions. So this place is one of the few thats good either wet or dry.... it was smooth both times as well. The new re-design is proving to be a helluva racey track!! Yes for those of you who are wondering... I do love crates! Alll the action and a third the attitude...

That about sums up my thoughts as well. The place is interested and really does have a neat layout. I wish they add a bit of banking to the tops of the turns to take out the "shelf" thats present now.
A little long and drug out for all the more cars they had, but the intermission was done tastefully for the UBB families. All in all it was a decent program! |

That 04 is something, the kid/guy driving that car doesn't live to far from me. Known him since he was a little kid. The week before he whipped the steel block late models at Natural Bridge, second place was a little over 4 seconds behind when they crossed line. He's a heck of a driver, I was wondering where he was saturday.
