I think this is the death of this track. He said he bought it for the real estate but hopes to find someone to oporate it as a race track. He is a recycler and sees hundreds of thousands of dollars is scrap metal from the bleachers and SAFER walls that have market value. He is all about $'s.
The bad thing is he outbid the Baders from Norwalk (Summit Raceway Park) who are by far the best Racing promoters in the U.S.

So let's think about this for a minute. He bought it for the real estate, but the economy is in the crapper and I doubt businesses are standing in line to build new buildings in Mansfield, Ohio, to move their businesses into. (if so, the old Fisher Body plant in Ontario wouldn't still be setting empty) He said he hopes to find someone to operate the track. So with the economy in the crapper, I'd say who ever steps up and operates the track will have a couple of years (time for the economy to get better) to make a go of it. The real question is "can anybody make a go of a high dollar asphalt track in Mansfield, Ohio?" I hate to say it but I have my doubts. There aren't enough local asphalt cars to fill the stands for a weekly schedule and there aren't enough asphalt racing organizations to fill up a special events only schedule.
I hope somebody gives it a try, and if they do, I'll support them. But I have my doubts they can make it work.
Time will tell.
