Track was perfect (smooth and tacky), the races started on time & ended shortly after 11 p.m.
The Hot Mod main was the race of the night, and maybe the best overall race that I've seen this year. At least 4 different drivers led, and the 1st and 2nd place finishers came from the tail! Now that's racing! Jason Brookover won his first of the season in the AMRA mods after a long lay-off from driving. Kenny Riddle, Booger Garnes, JP Roberts and Robin Ours followed as best I remember. Lots of passing and side by side racing in this one as well. Mike Conkle showed the young fellows how it's done in the TSMA Hot Mods. After restarting at the tail of the field, he picked his way to the front, taking the lead near the end of the 15 lap main. Levi Fleher, last weeks winner, also started at the back of the field and came home 2nd. I honestly don't remember the rest of the top 5 because they were trading positions right to the end, but at one time there were 5 cars battling within a car length of the lead. There has yet to be a repeat winner in the Mods or Hot Mods after 3 events. Brandon Fluharty won the $500 Mod-Lite special ahead of James Watson and a trio of racers from Illinois who planned to also race at tonights Mod-Lite 'STARS' $1k to win race @ Tyler County Speedway. Fluharty is undefeated in the Mod-lites @ Legendary Hilltop. Bill Fordyce was smooth and impressive in winning the Pure stock main and Tom Adkins won the 4 cylinder feature. The time and effort put into this place continues to show. |

They had 5 wedges and they raced on the small banked track that was built for them in the infield. I apologize for not knowing all the names, but I know the Baker boys finished 1st & 2nd.

Wish you could have been there. It was a great track and the racing in the mod classes was "off the hook" as the young'uns call it.

Dirtracer. We are not totaly against running some lates either the crate class or maybe some steel blocks. We need feedback dont want to get over our heads with this type of thing. Have your buddies give us feedback on what we might see as far as car count, class payout, Ect. we are working hard to be "the place to race" in the valley and want to make sure we take our time and do things right by not getting to much on our plate.. Any comments are more that welcome!!!
