Renegades of Dirt West Virginia Weekend - July 13th & 14th - AT A GLANCE


(Middlebourne, WV) - The Renegade schedule now turns to the much anticipated Mountain State showdown for the tour. The first of the two stops will take racers deep inside the Mountain State for a race on the 3/8 Mile banked Elkins Raceway on Friday July 13th for the 'Thunder in the Mountains 25' as part of the 2nd Annual Skidmore Memorial $7500 to win Super Late Model show. The modified portion of the program will pay $1500 to the winner and $150 to start but will also award DOUBLE show-up points. All drivers participating will be awarded an additional 50 points on top of their nightly point earnings. As well the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour has laid down a $500 contingency bounty that can be claimed by winning the A-Main Friday night (if Aukland is in attendance). In addition last week's feature winner at the Elkins Raceway Brent Trimble will have a chance Friday night to claim the Tyler/Elkins “Double Down” Bonus that is currently up to approx $650.00. In the circumstance that Trimble cannot do so, the challenge will remain intact and be offered to the winner of Friday nights Renegade of Dirt Tour racing action where he/she will have the chance on Saturday night at the Tyler County Speedway to claim the hefty “Double Down” Bonus that will be increased an extra $50 on top of Friday's bonus. When the tour trek's across 'mountaineer nation' to arrive at their ¼ mile high banked destination. “The Bullring” will await the open wheel warriors again for the second time this season as they get set for the 8th Annual Dickson Classic presented by AM Commodities. The Dickson Classic is one of the regions most sought after modified races each year and the 8th running will be no different boasting a generous $2000 to win and $200 to start.

As they battle it out with West Virginia's elite group of weekend regulars including; Bird Wilson, Mike Murphy, Brent Trimble, Tommy Powell, Phil Jeffries, Shawn Donahue, Chris Basich & others.

Elkins Raceway: Located in the scenic hills of West Virginia the 1/3 mile semi-banked clay oval that has provided door to door racing since its inception in 1952. Hillside lawn chair and bleacher seating is available. The track is located just North of Kerens, WV of US 219. 8.5 Miles North of Elkins, WV.
