I remember when the big thread about LCR first showed up on 4m. I sat and wasted quite some time reading up on it, and astounded at some of the history those guys were bringing up. It certainly was amazing. I know this thread has long since been dead, but it's always an interesting read to go back and look at the pictures. My question, however, is this: Has there been anymore said about this place? Have any other historians went and snapped some pictures or anything? I'd love to go visit the place now, just to see it. And, hell, with the way a lot of these old race tracks are being reopened, I guess anything is possible.

You can barely see a little of the fence for all of the pine trees growing around the track, at least that's what it looked like last fall when I was by there. I live about 45 minutes from there and that was my favorite track to go to on the weekends back in 82-85 when it closed.

It really is a shame to see the place go the way it did. Such nice facilities. If a good promoter were to get behind that place, it may still be in business. I know it was family owned and operated, but someone bringing in the big money races would have been interesting. It's too bad, but with the way some of these tracks have been reworked to be race-able again, I'd say anything is possible.
